About HyreRemodel
An intermediary that is vague about what it does and how it is paid has given you a reason to distrust everything else it says. So this page is direct about both, including the parts that are not finished yet.

HyreRemodel is not a remodeling contractor. We do not design, build, project-manage or supervise construction. We employ no tradespeople, hold no contractor licences, and guarantee nobody’s work. What we do is publish independent information about remodeling decisions, and connect homeowners with contractors who serve their area.
What we do
Remodeling is an unusually badly served decision. It is expensive, it is infrequent — most people do it two or three times in a life, and almost everything published about it is produced by somebody who wants to be hired. The result is a category full of average-cost figures that describe no real project and rankings that were bought rather than earned.
We publish the other thing: what the work actually involves, what decides the budget, what a proposal has to contain before two of them can be compared, what a contract should say, and how to check a contractor yourself. Then, when you are ready, we help connect you with companies serving your area.
- Six project types, each explaining the work, the sequence, what moves the price and what to ask.
- A cost guide that publishes no average and explains why.
- Ten calculators, every one showing its result without an email wall.
- A research library sourced to state boards and federal agencies.
- Contractor data drawn from public board records.
What we are not
- Not a contractor. We perform no construction work of any kind.
- Not architects or designers. Nothing here is a design for your property, and we do not produce drawings.
- Not a law firm. The contracts page explains mechanisms; it is not legal advice, and contract and lien law vary by state.
- Not a permitting service. We do not apply for permits or represent anyone before a building or zoning authority.
- Not a rating or review site. We publish no rankings and describe no company as trusted or approved.
- Not a dispatch line. Submitting an enquiry does not send anyone to your house.
How we expect to make money
By introducing homeowners to remodeling contractors. That is the model, and we state it plainly because you should be able to see the incentive while you read the advice.
It is not fully live. Contractor matching is still being built, which is why the enquiry form says so rather than implying a network that is already running. When it is live, any commercial arrangement will be disclosed where it applies.
What the money is not allowed to touch. No commercial relationship changes what this site says about deposits, allowances, contracts, change orders, permits or how to verify a licence. We do not sell editorial placement, we do not accept payment for a favourable mention, and there is no ranking to buy because we publish none. If that separation ever breaks, the editorial policy is the document we should be held to.
The standards we hold ourselves to
- Primary sources first. Code, safety, licensing and consumer-protection claims are sourced to federal agencies, model codes and state boards, and the references are published on the page with the date they were checked.
- Dated, not evergreen. Anything time-sensitive carries the date it was verified. Codes, fees and state statutes change on their own schedules, and a page that hides its age is asking to be trusted for longer than it has earned.
- Gaps stay visible. Where verification is missing, we write that it is missing. A remodeling site with no contractor list is a gap; one with an invented list is a liability for the reader.
- No invented authority. No fictional author personas, no fabricated credentials, no testimonials we cannot stand behind, no statistics without a source.
- No numbers we cannot defend. If a figure cannot be sourced, the section ships shorter rather than padded.
- Nothing gated. Every calculator shows its result without an email address. The enquiry form is a choice, never a toll.
- A published standard for enquiries. What we check before introducing anyone, and what we will not do to inflate volume, is set out on our lead quality standard: publicly, so it can be checked.
Who writes this
The HyreRemodel editorial desk. We deliberately do not attach invented author personas with invented credentials to pages — it is common practice in this category and it is a form of lying. Where a claim needs authority behind it, we cite the primary source with its retrieval date so you can check it rather than trusting a byline.
HyreRemodel is one of the HYRE network of home-services information sites, which share a design system, a set of editorial standards, and the same position on what an intermediary may and may not claim about work it does not perform.
