HyreRemodel

How it works

How HyreRemodel works

Most lead sites are deliberately vague about what happens after you press the button, because the honest answer is that your details are about to be sold several times. This page is the opposite of that: what we do, in order, including the part that is not built yet.

Last updated .

The short version. You tell us the project and the zip code. A person reads it and replies to you first. No contractor receives your details unless you agree to a specific introduction. It is free, nothing is gated, and you are never obliged to hire anyone.

What happens, in order

  1. You tell us about the project. Zip code, project type, rough timing, property type, and the most useful box on the form: what you are actually trying to solve. Only the zip code, your name and an email address are required.
  2. A person reads it. Not a routing algorithm. The enquiry arrives in our inbox and is read by someone who has read the same pages you have.
  3. We reply to you first. Answering whatever you asked, and pointing you at whichever part of the site is genuinely relevant to where you are in the process.
  4. We tell you what we can offer for your area. Including when the honest answer is that we cannot yet introduce anyone there. That answer is more useful than silence.
  5. Nothing is passed on without your agreement. If we can introduce you to contractors serving your area, we say who and ask first. Your details go nowhere until you say yes.
  6. You decide. Whether to speak to anyone, whether to hire, and whether to keep researching instead. There is no obligation at any point and no follow-up sequence designed to wear you down.

Where we actually are

Contractor matching is still being built. We say that on the form, on the thank-you page, on how we vet and here, because a site that implies a live national network while building one is telling its first readers something untrue about the most important part of the service.

What this means for you today: you will get a considered answer from a person, and a straight statement about introductions in your area. What it does not mean is three quotes by Friday. If that is what you need right now, the better route is to use the hiring guide and approach companies directly, and we would rather tell you that than keep you waiting.

What we do not do with your details

  • We do not sell them. Introducing you to someone you asked to be introduced to is not the same as selling a list, and we do not do the second thing.
  • We do not broadcast one enquiry to several companies to see who calls first. That practice is what produces six calls in an afternoon, and it is a business model rather than a service.
  • We do not pass them on before asking. Consent is per introduction, not a blanket permission buried in a checkbox.
  • We do not require a phone number, and consent to be called is never a condition of using the site.
  • We do not gate anything behind them. Every calculator returns its result without an email address.

How we are paid, and why that is on this page

We expect to earn revenue by introducing homeowners to remodeling contractors. You should be able to see that incentive while you read the advice, which is why it is stated here and on about HyreRemodel rather than buried in a disclosure.

What it does not change is the content. No commercial relationship affects what this site says about deposits, allowances, contracts, change orders, permits or licence checks, and there is no ranking to buy, because we publish none. The editorial policy is the document to hold us to.

Your data

Enquiries reach us by email. We keep what you sent, we do not sell personal information, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time by emailing hello@hyreremodel.com: we will confirm when it is done. The privacy policy is the authoritative version, including what analytics are in use and what they collect.

How we vet covers what we check about a contractor and what those checks cannot tell you. The lead quality standard is the same discipline applied to enquiries. About HyreRemodel covers who publishes this. When you are ready, tell us about your project.

Questions

What happens immediately after I submit the form?
The enquiry arrives in our inbox and a person reads it. Nothing is automated, nothing is broadcast, and no contractor is notified. We reply to you first — with an answer to whatever you asked, and with an honest statement of what we can currently offer for your area, including when the answer is that we cannot yet introduce anyone there.
Will contractors start calling me?
Not as a result of submitting this form. No remodeling contractor receives your details unless you have agreed to it for a specific introduction. We do not sell enquiries into a lead market, we do not broadcast one enquiry to several companies to see who responds first, and the pattern where a single form fill produces six calls in an afternoon is exactly what we are trying not to build.
Is contractor matching actually live?
Not yet. It is being built, and we would rather say so on every page that touches the subject than imply a network already running at scale. What that means practically: you will get a considered answer from a person, and a straight statement about whether we can introduce anyone where you are. If we cannot, we will tell you that rather than stalling.
Why do you ask for a zip code first?
Because nearly everything that matters in remodeling is decided locally: zoning, permit fees, plan review timelines, code requirements, contractor licensing and labour rates. It also matters because an introduction is only useful if the company actually works where you are. A national answer to a local question is the main thing wrong with most remodeling content, and the zip code is what lets us avoid giving you one.
Do I have to give a phone number?
No. The phone field is optional and it will stay optional. Consent to be contacted by phone or text cannot lawfully be made a condition of using a service, so the form submits without a number and without the consent box ticked. If you do give one, the consent wording on the form is what governs how it may be used.
What data do you keep, and for how long?
What you put in the form, plus standard analytics about how the site is used. We do not sell personal information. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we will — email is the fastest route. The privacy policy is the full and authoritative version, including the analytics tools in use.
Does it cost anything?
No. Using the site, the calculators and the research costs nothing, submitting an enquiry costs nothing, and none of it commits you to a contractor, a design or a start date. Nothing on this site is behind an email wall, including every calculator result — that is a deliberate decision, not an oversight.
What can you actually help with?
Working out which project solves your problem, what decides the budget, what a proposal should contain, what a contract should say, what permits are likely to be involved, and how to check a contractor. What we cannot do is price your specific project, tell you whether a particular quote is fair for your house, recommend a specific company, give legal or design advice, or dispatch anyone. The contact page sets out that boundary in more detail.
